Discord verification: how to keep raiders and throwaway accounts out
By Chill Development | | 5 min read

Verification puts a small step between a new account and the rest of your server. It will not stop every determined attacker, but it stops the cheapest ones: bulk accounts that join, spam and leave.
How a verification gate works
- New members join and can only see a verification channel.
- They complete the check.
- The bot grants a role, often called Member or Verified.
- That role unlocks the rest of the server.
The important detail is the last step: your other channels must only be visible to the verified role. If everyone can already see them, the gate does nothing.
Set it up in Korzax
- Open Verification in the dashboard.
- Pick the channel where the check lives.
- Choose the verification method and the role granted when someone passes.
- Optionally choose a log channel so staff can see who verified.
- Save.
See the verification documentation for the same steps in short form.
Combine it with Discord's own settings
Discord's server safety settings include a verification level that sets how old an account must be, or whether it needs a verified email or phone, before it can talk. Used together with a bot gate, they remove most low-effort raids.
Common mistakes
- Leaving channels visible to @everyone, so the gate can be skipped.
- Placing the bot's role below the verified role, so it cannot assign it.
- Making the verification channel confusing. One short instruction is enough.
- Forgetting to give staff a way to verify someone manually when the check fails for a real person.
Verification is the first layer. For the rest, follow the raid and nuke protection checklist.
